Privacy policy

Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, phone number, password hash, account role, and the dates your account last signed in and used the service.

Booking information: pickup and drop-off names and coordinates, dates and times, service and vehicle choices, quoted fare, booking status, and the driver or vendor assigned to a ride.

Driver and fleet verification information: licence numbers and any optional licence, selfie, PAN card, vehicle bill-book, insurance-paper, vendor cheque, tax, or bank-account details submitted through the service. Private document images are not public.

Device and technical information: an Expo notification token and platform when you allow ride notifications, plus ordinary security and server logs such as request time, network address, response status, and error details.

Website choices: the public website stores your analytics-consent choice in your browser. Analytics is loaded only after you accept it.

How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts, quote and manage bookings, match rides with vendors and drivers, show trip routes, verify onboarding documents, deliver service and notification updates, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet accounting, insurance, and legal obligations.

Purple Cars does not sell personal data, use it for cross-app tracking, or run third-party advertising in the app.

When information is shared

A vendor or driver receives the booking and contact details needed to deliver a ride. Other vendors do not receive your private contact details.

We use Cloudflare to run public web services and protect private document images, Stadia Maps to provide place search, map tiles, geocoding, and routes, and Expo to deliver optional push notifications. These providers process only the data needed to provide their service under their own contractual and privacy terms.

Place-search text and trip coordinates are sent to Stadia Maps for autocomplete, geocoding, and route requests. Stadia Maps may retain necessary API request and access logs for service delivery and security under its privacy terms.

We may disclose records to insurers, professional advisers, or public authorities when necessary to handle a claim, protect people and the service, or comply with law. We do not rent personal information to data brokers.

Retention and account deletion

Account information is kept while the account is active. Customers and drivers can permanently delete an account from Account → Delete account in the Purple Cars app after confirming the current password.

Deletion cancels active rides, removes sessions and notification tokens, deletes private driver document images, and anonymises identity and saved trip-location fields. Pseudonymised booking, fare, and audit records may be retained where they are needed for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention, insurance, or legal obligations.

Operational logs and website-consent records are kept only as long as they remain useful for security, reliability, and the purpose for which they were created.

Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. App credentials use the device keychain, private images remain in a non-public object store, document requests are authenticated, and access is restricted by account role. No internet service can promise absolute security, so we also monitor and update the service as risks change.

Your choices

You can decline notifications and photo or camera access; the core app remains usable without those optional permissions. You may ask to access or correct your information, or ask a privacy question, by emailing nischal1024@gmail.com.

You can withdraw website analytics consent by clearing the Purple Cars site data in your browser and choosing Decline when asked again.
